Boilstädt is a district of Gotha with approximately 870 residents, located about 2-3 km southwest of the city center, between Boxberg and Schlossberg. Additionally, via the Erfurt interchange, there is access to the A71 motorway in the direction of Suhl. Gotha railway station is an ICE (high-speed train) stop (ICE 50: Frankfurt 2 hours, Berlin 2:25 hours), and an NVG bus line directly connects Boilstädt to the main railway station. The historic Thuringian Forest Railway (line 4) runs from Gotha through Waltershausen to Friedrichroda and Bad Tabarz – a special bonus for recreation.
Locally, there are kindergartens and a well-established village community; schools, doctors, and retail shops are within a few minutes' drive in the center of Gotha. Schloss Friedenstein, the landmark of Gotha, is one of the largest early Baroque castle complexes in Germany.
