The "Tucherschloss" in its current form dates back to the late Renaissance, built in 1590/91 on the site of one of three former estates belonging to Nuremberg patricians in Feucht. The Nuremberg patrician, Herdegen IV. Tucher, had commissioned the construction. In 1990, a couple of architects acquired the estate, which was in a state of disrepair, and carefully restored it in accordance with historical preservation guidelines. During the restoration, the four corner towers were reconstructed. The "Tucherschloss" demonstrates that cutting-edge technology and historical ambiance can complement each other perfectly. With the aim of creating architecture that is both technically and emotionally appealing, the building, spanning 860 m², presents the themes of events, work, and living in a new light. The building was renovated using ecological principles and with a strong focus on sustainability. A range of environmentally friendly materials were used for the restoration, including sheep's wool as insulation, lime casein paints, and natural oils for treating wood. Throughout all these measures, the two architects always ensured that the historical fabric of the building was respected and that the building was revitalized in a way that was sensitive to its historical significance. Despite all the modernizations and the use of contemporary materials such as steel and glass, the historical authenticity of the building has been preserved, and yet the "Tucherschloss" has successfully transitioned into the modern era.
