THE TUCKER MANOR

The "Tucker Manor" in its current form dates back to the late Renaissance, built in 1590/91 from one of the three former estates of the Nuremberg patricians in Feucht. The Nuremberg patrician, Herdegen IV Tucher, had the property built. In 1990, a couple of architects acquired the estate, which was by then in a state of disrepair, and restored it in a manner that respects its historical significance. During the restoration, the four corner towers were reconstructed. The "Tucker Manor" demonstrates that the latest technology and historical ambiance can complement each other perfectly. With the ambition to create architecture that is both technically and emotionally engaging, the property presents the themes of events, work, and living in a new light, across 860 square meters. The building has been largely renovated using ecological principles, with a strong focus on sustainability. A range of environmentally friendly materials were used for the renovation, including sheep's wool as insulation, lime-casein paints, and natural oils for treating the wood. In all these measures, the two architects always ensured that the historical fabric of the building was respected and that the property was revitalized in a manner that respects its historical significance. Despite all the modernization and the use of contemporary materials such as steel and glass, the historical authenticity of the building has been preserved, and yet the "Tucker Manor" has successfully transitioned into the modern era.
