Oberreichenstätt is located in the west of the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt, and in the Altmühl Valley Nature Park (approximately 3 km west of Eichstätt, and approximately 25 km northwest of Ingolstadt).

At the edge of the village, the idyllic Hüttenbach stream originates from a karst spring and flows through the village to the Altmühl River. The Altmühl Valley cycle path offers opportunities for wonderful excursions. The slope above Oberreichenstätt is a popular area for hang gliding.
