Zernsdorf is located southeast of Berlin, on the shores of three lakes. The largest of these is the Krüpelsee, which is actually a wide section of the Dahme river. The other two are the Zernsdorfer Lankensee, which serves as the outflow for the Uckley stream, and the Uckleysee. Zernsdorf is a district of the town of Königs Wusterhausen, which is located approximately four kilometers to the west. Thanks to its own motorway junction (9, Zernsdorf/Niederlehme) on the A10/E30/E55 (Berliner Ring), it has excellent transport links. Its location on the outskirts of Berlin makes Zernsdorf a popular recreational area, and its population roughly doubles in the summer due to the many visitors. The state capital, Potsdam, is located approximately 50 kilometers to the west. Frankfurt (Oder), and therefore the Polish border, is approximately 65 kilometers to the east. Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) is located 20 kilometers away, and the train station is about 20 minutes away. A bus stop is located nearby. The school is located in the village. Shops, a doctor's office, and a kindergarten are within walking distance (approximately 10 minutes).
