Location
Roitzsch is a district located in the eastern part of the city of Wurzen, in the Leipzig district. The name is derived from the Rietzschke stream (of Slavic origin) that flows through the area. In 1950, Roitzsch was incorporated into the city of Wurzen. Initially, there was a farmstead, later a manor house, from which the village developed. Between 2009 and 2013, the Paltrock windmill from Roitzsch was relocated to its current location north of Schkortitz, a district of Grimma.
