The house was extensively renovated in 2005 to meet the requirements of the KfW (German government-backed) program for energy-efficient building renovations. The following improvements were made:
- Installation of a 12cm thick external wall insulation system with a WLZ035 thermal performance rating.
- Insulation of the entire basement ceiling with 6-8 cm thick panels, also with a WLZ035 rating.
- Replacement of the basement entrance door.
- Complete replacement of the roof covering, including reinforcement of the roof rafters by 4 cm to accommodate a 20 cm thick insulation layer (WLZ035).
- Complete replacement of the gutters, including cladding of the chimney.
- Complete replacement of all windows with white PVC windows (supplied by Denzlein) with double glazing.
- Installation of a Buderus oil-fired low-temperature boiler with a plastic tank (3000 liters), along with the complete distribution system, piping, and radiators throughout the house.
- Complete renovation of the bathroom on the ground floor and the toilet on the upper floor, including the plumbing.
- The upper floor was converted in 2005 using a timber frame construction, and five Velux roof windows with blackout blinds were also installed. In 2014, the old garage roof was replaced. In 2018, the house was connected to the "Bürgernet" fiber optic network of the city of Bamberg, and in 2025, the concrete steps at the entrance were replaced with a modern staircase made of natural stone. Additionally, the house was repainted by a professional painting company. The garden was individually designed with flowerbeds and smaller pathways. A small pond with an adjacent seating area is also available, offering many possibilities for further individual design.

The quiet residential area in which the house is located is slightly elevated from the center of the village and offers a very good view and proximity to a popular excursion destination, the Senftenberger Felsenkeller.
The good connections to surrounding towns such as Bamberg and Erlangen provide a good infrastructure. Shopping facilities for daily needs as well as doctors and schools are available in nearby Buttenheim. The region offers numerous leisure activities such as hiking trails and cycling tours through the Franconian countryside.
