Ginnheim is located approximately three kilometers northwest of the Hauptwache (main guardhouse), on a raised area south of the Nidda river. The district, particularly in its western half, is characterized by the "Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße," which runs from southeast to northwest. This is a city highway built as an elevated road, connecting the "AS Ffm-Miquelallee" (Europaturm, Deutsche Bundesbank) at the district border, crossing the Nidda river, passing by the "Nordwestzentrum" in Heddernheim, to the city border in Niederursel and the "Frankfurter Landstraße" towards Oberursel. Furthermore, the S-Bahn (suburban railway) line (S 6) to Friedberg runs underneath this road in an "X" shape, running from southwest to northeast. The area west of the railway tracks is predominantly green space and woodland. Modern development has expanded south and southeast, towards the center of Frankfurt. Ginnheim is urbanistically connected to the districts of Eschersheim to the north and Dornbusch to the east. To the west, separated by the Ginnheimer Wäldchen (a small forest) and the Volkspark Niddatal (a public park), are the districts of Hausen and Praunheim. Heddernheim is located northwest of Ginnheim, separated by the Nidda river.
