The area described above belongs to the municipality of Felde and is located between the smaller villages of Brandsbek and Klein Nordsee, along the L48 road. The Eider River runs adjacent to the area, connecting the North-Sea Canal with the Westensee lake. The railway station and the railway line are separated from the area by only a few smaller plots of land. The area consists of farmland, grassland, ditches, and a path that leads to a small settlement with three houses. This path can be used as access to the area. Currently, the land is leased to a businessman in the neighboring village. The municipality of Felde, with a current population of approximately 2,200, is classified as a "rural central location" within the regional classification system of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Due to the excellent transport links, the state capital of Kiel can be reached by car in approximately 10 minutes via the A210 motorway. The journey to Rendsburg takes approximately 20 minutes, as does the journey to Nortorf via the L48 state road. Trains on the Kiel – Rendsburg – Schleswig/Husum railway line operate in both directions every 30 minutes. In addition, there are bus connections to Kiel, Rendsburg, Nortorf, and Itzehoe. The basic amenities are provided by several retail stores, financial institutions, and service providers. A gas station is located in the Klein Nordsee district. Medical care is provided by several doctors specializing in different fields. In addition, there is a pharmacy, a kindergarten, and a primary school. The picturesque location on the Westensee lake and the Eider River, as well as the direct connection to the Westensee Nature Park, offer a high level of recreational value. Feld is one of the most popular places to live in the Kiel area, largely due to its rare combination of proximity to a major city, good infrastructure, and excellent leisure and recreational opportunities.
