Curau – Rural living with excellent connections
Curau is a village within the municipality of Stockelsdorf, in the Ostholstein district, and has a population of approximately 550-600. The village is characterized by its rural atmosphere, abundant greenery, and its historic center with a church. Located directly on the edge of the village is the Curau Moor, a nature reserve covering around 200 hectares, which offers significant recreational opportunities. At the same time, Curau benefits from bus connections, as well as water, gas, and central sewage infrastructure. A major advantage is its location: you live peacefully in the countryside, but can reach both Ahrensbök and Bad Schwartau in just a few minutes. Stockelsdorf and Lübeck are also easily accessible. Furthermore, a bus route runs through Curau, connecting Lübeck/Stockelsdorf with Ahrensbök.
From Curau to Ahrensbök, the distance is approximately 7-8 kilometers, or about 10 minutes by car, depending on the starting and ending points. The straight-line distance is about 7.3 kilometers. The Bad Schwartau train station is particularly interesting for commuters. From there, there are train connections to, among other places, Lübeck, Kiel, and Neustadt. Furthermore, Bad Schwartau is located directly adjacent to Lübeck and benefits from excellent road connections, including the A1 motorway. Therefore, I would summarize the location of the Curau properties as follows: Curau offers a living environment that combines proximity to nature and tranquility with surprisingly good infrastructure in the immediate vicinity. Ahrensbök, with its shops, schools, doctors, and pharmacies, is reachable in approximately 10 minutes. Bad Schwartau, with its extensive shopping options, healthcare facilities, and train station, is only about 10-12 minutes away by car. At the same time, Stockelsdorf and the Hanseatic city of Lübeck are also easily accessible – an interesting combination, especially for families and commuters.
