Dreamlike property with a house in the Uckermark region – located in the heart of the biosphere reserve, with access to water and forest.
17291 Oberuckersee (Grünheide) – BrandenburgWe are selling our house in the countryside, which features a large plot of land and outbuildings. Situated on over 5,200 m² of garden, in the heart of the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve and nestled in the beautiful rolling hills of the Uckermark region, you're guaranteed one thing here: peace and quiet. Sheep and cows graze in the fields of the surrounding farms, you can see deer and roe deer, and you can hear nightingales and cuckoos in the trees. The property is located at the end of a small village road, and on most days, you can count the cars that pass by on one hand. Two small lakes are about a ten-minute walk away, offering a place to swim, and about a ten-minute drive away, you can paddle across the Oberuckersee lake using a stand-up paddleboard. When we first arrived here, we found a house that had been vacant for a long time and a garden that was overgrown. Since then, we have renovated and changed many things. We have, among other things, replaced the roof, completely renewed the electrical system, installed a new, large septic tank, and replaced the water pipes to and within the house. We changed the layout, removing walls and installing several new floor-to-ceiling windows, creating a bright and airy house. In the old chicken coop, we also installed a small sauna. Some of the work was carried out by specialized companies, while other parts were done by us ourselves. A lot has also happened in the garden in recent years. We planted numerous shrubs, fruit trees, and deciduous trees, planted flower bulbs, and pruned the old fruit trees on the property. A large orchard has been created on the front lawn, with apricot, apple, pear, quince, and plum trees, as well as gooseberry, blackcurrant, and raspberry bushes. The old walnut tree behind the house provides shade on hot summer days. Insects find plenty of food on the many shrubs and in the herb garden. We haven't renovated or refurbished everything yet, and not all of our ideas for the garden have been realized. But perhaps that's part of the appeal of taking over this house and property: it offers many opportunities to continue working on it and to realize your own dream of living in the countryside.
The house:
You enter the house through a long hallway, at the end of which is the bathroom, which was renovated in the 1990s. Adjacent to the entrance hall is a small hallway, from which you can access the fieldstone cellar, the large, open-plan living and dining area with a wood-burning stove, and one of the bedrooms. The second bedroom is accessed from the living room through an old double door, which, according to what we were told, is said to have come from the demolished manor house in the village. A staircase from the hallway leads to the upper floor, which is currently unfinished. The roof has been insulated, and a Velux skylight with an electric roller blind has been installed. A new wooden floor has already been laid. From the front window, there is a view over the landscape and the hills of the Uckermark region, towards the Oder River. The living space of the house is approximately 110 square meters, with five rooms. Currently, the house is heated by the wood-burning stove in the living room, and the bathroom has electric heating. The outbuilding:
The outbuilding also offers plenty of space and possibilities. The property includes a garage, a barn, and the old chicken coop, which now houses a small sauna.

Location
The house is located in a small village in the municipality of Oberuckersee, in the heart of the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve. The property is situated in a very quiet location, being the second-to-last house in the village before the fields. Shortly after, the public road ends. The house is approximately one hour away from Berlin-Mitte via the A11, depending on traffic. Prenzlau and Schwedt are about 30 minutes away by car. The Warnitz train station is located just under 6 km away, offering regional train connections to Berlin and Stralsund. In Warnitz, you'll find a small farmers' market, a kindergarten, and a school. In Gramzow, there's a bakery, a hardware store, a pharmacy, and a larger supermarket. A farmers' market takes place in Stegelitz on Fridays. The surrounding area offers numerous lakes for swimming and various attractions, such as Boitzenburg Castle, the Grumsiner Forest, the Trellert lake fishery, and Chorin Monastery. Many events also take place in the surrounding villages, ranging from the Melzow Summer Church to open-air cinemas, cider festivals, and various village festivals. In our village, a good LTE mobile network is available, making it ideal for remote work. Here, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, the nature, and the almost endless starry sky at night, while also having the opportunity to meet neighbors and enjoy the cultural life of the area.
