The Haarberg has become a popular recreational area, with walking and cycling paths that invite visitors on day trips. Every half hour, articulated buses operate on lines 11 (Hoengen/Mariadorf-Schmithof) and 21 (Übach-Palenberg/Herzogenrath-Aachen Siegel), and every hour, single buses operate on line 1 (Stolberg-Lintert). Additionally, single buses operate on lines 16 (Verlautenheide-Aachen Hauptbahnhof) and 46 (Verlautenheide-Aachen Waldfriedhof) every hour, but only from Monday to Friday during the daytime.
