Location
Karlsfeld is a municipality located on the northwestern outskirts of Munich, in the Dachau district of Upper Bavaria. In the summer, the nearby Karlsfelder Lake (approximately 12 minutes walk) and the Waldschwaigsee offer opportunities for swimming. Another highlight are the beautiful cycling paths along the Würm river, which lead to Dachau or Oberschleißheim, where a visit to the picturesque Oberschleißheim Palace is highly recommended. The Bajuwarenstraße stop is just about 2 minutes away, and the Falkenstraße stop is about 5 minutes away. Using lines 701 and 711, you can easily reach Karlsfeld train station, which also offers park-and-ride facilities. The S2 suburban train (running every 10 minutes during peak hours) takes approximately 21 minutes to reach Munich Central Station. Thanks to the good connection to the Bajuwarenstraße, you can also quickly reach Dachau, or Oberschleißheim via the B471, where the rowing regatta is also a great destination. Due to its proximity to the A99 and A92 motorways, you can quickly and easily reach Munich Airport in approximately 21 minutes. Furthermore, via the A99 ring road, you have very fast connections to the A8, A9, and A96 motorways. Karlsfeld offers a variety of educational facilities, including kindergartens, day nurseries, and an after-school program, as well as two primary schools, a secondary school, a vocational school, and a grammar school. Within a very short distance (less than 300 meters), you'll find a supermarket, a bakery, and a butcher shop.
