Throughout the house, the original hardwood floors have been preserved and restored, or new solid wood flooring has been installed. The original Art Nouveau doors (including the original hardware) have been retained and are in use, or are stored in the basement. High-quality built-in appliances from brands like Miele and Bosch complete the fittings.
Location
Ostorf is a charming district with a good mix of young families and older residents. Schwerin Castle and the adjacent castle park are just a few minutes' walk away. Whether it's the castle festival, the monthly flea market at Bertha-Klingberg-Platz (April to October), the open-air stage, or the floating lawns with their summer events, you can enjoy the proximity to the castle and park at any time of year. The nearby Platz der Jugend is a public transportation hub. From here, you can quickly reach all the important areas of Schwerin by tram or bus. Platz der Jugend also has two pharmacies, various doctors' offices, and a bakery-cafe. The city center is a 10- to 15-minute walk away. As Schwerin is the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, there are wonderful attractions and events throughout the year. The theater, museum, and castle itself are also within a 15-minute walk. Although it's a semi-detached house, you hardly notice the neighboring house. There's a law firm on the upper floor, an office in the basement, and a rented apartment on the top floor.

This beautiful Art Nouveau villa is not a listed building, but it is located within the protected area of Luther Street. This means that there are special regulations regarding the Art Nouveau facade, including the windows and roof, on the Luther Street side. The renovation of the facade, roof, and windows was coordinated with the heritage protection authorities. The correspondence with the heritage protection authorities is available for review.
Renovation needs:
- Upper floor: Painting of the baseboards and door frames, patching/sanding/painting of the plaster in some areas.
- Stairwell: One coat of paint is still needed for the wooden elements. Some of this has already been prepared (sanded).
Other:
- The shower bathroom on the upper floor was built in the 2000s. It is functional, but could benefit from renovation.
- The gas condensing boiler was installed in 2009. It operates reliably. Replacing it would be financially viable from 2029 onwards (with government subsidies).
