Mölln is a town in the district of Herzogtum Lauenburg in the south-east of Schleswig-Holstein. Mölln is one of the top 10 most beautiful small towns in Germany. The magazine GEO-Reisen came to this conclusion in its 2017 travel recommendation. The Eulenspiegelstadt-Mölln itself, first mentioned in a document in 1188, is a medium-sized town with around 18,500 inhabitants and is the second largest town in the Duchy of Lauenburg. Surrounded by forests and 7 lakes, you will find peace, relaxation and unspoiled nature here. The historic old town is home to the Till Eulenspiegel Museum, various historic buildings and the late Gothic Nicolai Church - the burial place of the jester Till Eulenspiegel. The town center offers shopping facilities of all kinds, fine dining, a newly designed spa park, the Uhlenkolk (wildlife park), which is known far beyond the town's borders, and a lively and eventful atmosphere at various events and exhibitions. The Mölln sports club offers various activities for health-conscious people and sports enthusiasts. Other clubs, including a shooting guild, fishing, gliding, equestrian and motor sports, are located on site, as are all types of schools, kindergartens and a train station, a central bus station with express bus connections to Hamburg and a medical center. Hamburg and the Baltic Sea beaches around Travemünde are approx. 50 km from Mölln. Lübeck, the city of the Hanseatic League, can be reached in just under 30 minutes by car.
