History meets modernity:
The building ensemble dates back to 1793 and was considered a jewel of Bavarian Baroque. The year of construction of this monument is carved into the well-preserved entrance door. The extension on the north side was built around 1976. The former castle restaurant and the two associated residential and farm buildings are located directly opposite Weyhern Castle.
The 400-year history of the castle inn came to an end in 2006. The building was in danger of falling into disrepair.
In 2012, a private buyer was found who had the property converted into a residential building and, with the greatest personal and technical effort and creativity, transformed it into a dreamlike residential property in accordance with strict monument protection requirements.
The building:
It is a solid masonry building with a roof truss in carpenter-like construction and plain tile roofing. The building, which has a partial basement, stands on a fully insulated plinth and has two full storeys and a two-storey roof truss.
Equipment / use:
The property comprises three brick buildings as well as several wooden (annexe) buildings.
The main building alone measures approx. 23 m x 13.5 m. The historically restored entrance door has been preserved, but is not used as an entrance. Behind it is the long corridor with access to the rooms and bathrooms. The historic doors have been tastefully restored, as has the internal wooden staircase to the upper floor. The former parlor has been transformed into a living area with a brick fireplace, while the tavern, kitchen and storage rooms have been converted into a dining area, utility room and a modern open-plan fitted kitchen with cooking island and all electrical appliances. The former guest toilets have been converted into spacious, attractive bathrooms. The covered main entrance is now on the east side with hallway and checkroom.
The upper floor was designed as a completely separate living unit, accessible both via the internal staircase and from the outside via a wooden staircase with a separate entrance. Here, too, you will find high-quality, tasteful design and furnishings. The "huge" living area with open kitchen, as well as 5-6 bedrooms, utility room and 2 bathrooms offer space for a large family.
The huge attic is not converted, but offers plenty of usable space. It was completely restored and re-roofed as part of the renovation.
The former west-facing beer garden was converted into a wonderful multi-level stone terrace. The former bowling alley has been largely preserved and now serves as a cozy garden house and equipment storage area.
The large outbuilding, the coach house, offers a variety of large usable and storage areas, garages, workshop and the former horse stable, with a continuous threshing floor in the gable. An ideal constellation for e.g. craft businesses with a need for large indoor storage areas and/or for (large) animal husbandry.
A second small outbuilding, the former landlord's house, has been lovingly converted and designed and can be used as a small residential unit in its own right, with a living room, internal wooden staircase into the two-part gable roof for bedrooms and children's rooms, small bathroom and kitchen.
All of this is surrounded by an approx. 7000 m² "park". This allows animals/horses to be kept in their own paddock, as well as plenty of parking spaces.
The main building is fenced in. ("escape-proof" - perfect for keeping dogs, for example); the other areas are enclosed / fenced in with pasture fences.
Due to the owners' decision to move elsewhere, the property is being sold complete and ready for occupancy to a new owner. On request with (partial) furnishing. Kitchen included.
