The door frames are not the standard size.
They have been enlarged to accommodate the disabled, which also provides much more space for the overall living experience and, of course, offers security for the elderly. Two elevators (a large goods elevator and a smaller passenger elevator) are also in operation at all times, making shopping very convenient.
Location
The property is located right next to a bus stop and only around 200 meters from a shopping center with a district savings bank, bakery, general practitioner, pharmacy and discount store. Uli Böttcher's Hoftheater is also within walking distance - culture and gastronomy in the middle of nature.
You can walk straight into the countryside from the house entrance or explore the beautiful Schussental valley on cycle paths ;-) Everything right outside the door. There is also a (newly) renovated indoor swimming pool with two outdoor saunas, two indoor saunas and two steam baths. The outdoor pool in "Nessenreben" in the middle of nature is also a very nice destination. And a shuttle bus in summer takes you to and from the "Nessenreben" outdoor pool in front of the building.
The town of Weingarten had just under 25,000 inhabitants in 2024. In southern Baden-Württemberg, in the middle of Upper Swabia, it borders the Lake Constance region and the (Upper) Allgäu. Nearby main roads and highway access points allow for short trips, e.g. to nearby Bregenz (world-famous lake stage), Lindau (around 40 km) or Montafon. From Friedrichshafen, about 20 km away, you can plan wonderful excursions across the lake directly to Switzerland or by catamaran to Constance (Reichenau/Mainau Island - all practically on the doorstep). The geographical proximity to Lake Constance, Vorarlberg, Switzerland and Austria offers everything for which others plan vacations.
Weingarten also offers ancient culture and is a renowned university town.
The infrastructure together with the town of Ravensburg is excellent.
The church of St. Martin with its Gabler organ is one of the largest baroque churches north of the Alps. Even the Way of St. James passes through here and the Holy Blood Ride with its procession of lights attracts 20,000 spectators every year. Hundreds of riders then gather in Weingarten. Weingarten is also a stronghold of the Swabian-Alemannic carnival.
There is the University of Technology, Science and Social Sciences and the "PH", the University of Education, enjoys an excellent reputation far beyond the region.
Handball, table tennis and ice hockey can all be played here. The Ravensburger Towerstars ice hockey games are booked in advance every year.
