The spa town of Waren is located in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District in a unique wooded and water-rich landscape on the northern shore of the Müritz, Germany's largest inland lake. The Müritz is connected to Hamburg via the federal waterway and to Berlin via the Müritz/Havel waterway. Waren has a hospital and a train station with IC and RE connections every hour (IC/ICE connection Rostock - Berlin - Leipzig and Dresden). The train station can be easily reached on foot in 25 minutes with a suitcase. There is a quick connection to the A19 Rostock/Hamburg or Berlin highway via the B192, 20 km away. The drive to the Baltic Sea e.g. to Rostock/Warnemünde takes about one hour, to the capital Berlin about 2 hours (the IC train connection takes only one hour and 20 minutes).
