Location

With over 16,000 inhabitants, Bad Segeberg is the third largest town in the district of Segeberg. It has excellent highway connections in the triangle between Kiel (A21), Lübeck (A20) and Hamburg (A21). Neumünster can be reached by car in half an hour via the B 205. Hamburg and Lübeck can be reached quickly and easily by train via Bad Oldesloe. There is even a train connection to Neumünster without changing trains.
But it's not just the location that makes Bad Segeberg so attractive. Bad Segeberg is known beyond the town's borders for the annual Karl May Festival on the 91-metre-high Kalkberg. Visitors and residents alike can enjoy a wide range of cultural and leisure activities in addition to the excellent shopping facilities. The bat adventure exhibition, the Alt-Segeberger Bürgerhaus museum, Kalkberg caves and St. Mary's Church are just a few examples. Various festivals and activities take place throughout the year, such as the Segeberger Kultursommer or the summer concerts in the open-air stage.
Möbel-Kraft AG, known throughout Germany, has its headquarters here, as do the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians and the Schleswig-Holstein Medical Association. The town has various schools - including an adult education center.
