Location
Hassels is located nine kilometers south-east of Düsseldorf city center, on the city border with Hilden. A residential area was created here between Eller and Benrath towards the end of the 19th century, initially for employees of the industrial areas in the neighboring districts. Today, Hassels presents itself as a district with heterogeneous development. Almost 19,000 people live here. The eastern half of the district is covered by the Düsseldorf forest. Beyond the eastern city limits are several beautiful lakes, including the Elbsee and the popular Unterbacher See. Hassels is well connected in terms of transportation. Two highway access roads, Düsseldorf-Eller and Düsseldorf-Benrath, are only a few minutes away by car and connect the district to the national road network via the A 46 and A 59.
