The thermal spa town of Bad Bevensen is located in the eastern Lüneburg Heath. Bad Bevensen is an idyllic spa town with numerous boutiques and cafés as well as excellent medical care in various specialist and rehabilitation clinics. The main attractions are the beautifully landscaped, extensive spa gardens and the famous iodine brine spa with its large outdoor pools and newly designed sauna area. Shopping facilities as well as a bakery, pharmacy, doctors and banks are all within walking distance in the village. There is also an elementary school, a secondary school, a kindergarten and a crèche.
The beautiful surroundings are also ideal for all kinds of activities, such as hiking, cycling, canoeing on the Ilmenau, horse riding, tennis or golfing on the nearby 18-hole Bad Bevensen golf course. The iodine brine spa is well-known and attracts those seeking relaxation from far and wide. Good medical care, e.g. from the Diana-Klink heart and vascular center in the town.
The spa center offers a varied, changing program of concerts, readings, dance afternoons, Qi Gong, yoga and much more. In the season from May to October, most stores are also open on Sundays and there are antique and flea markets as well as jazz concerts in the town center.
