Information on equipment
The two-storey residential building with a basement was planned in 1938 by architect Otto Ackermann from Walldürn (father of architect Rolf Ackermann, Mosbach) and built in 1939/40.
The owner was the merchant Robert Messer from Frankfurt, who lived in the building with his family until the end of the 1950s. Robert Messer was the brother-in-law of the Limbach manufacturer Richard Bopp (Badenia lampshade factory, builder of the "Villa Bopp").
Mr. Bopp gave his brother-in-law part of the land of the "Villa Bopp" for the construction.
The hipped-roof house was built at about the same time as the "Villa Bopp" in the same architectural style. The architectural style, with two fully visible storeys and a horizontal roof edge, stood out from the gable roof buildings that were common in Limbach. This gave this building the colloquial name "villa" in Limbach.
In 1959, the house was bought by the dentist Heinrich Busch, from whose name "Villa Busch" was derived, and lived in by his family until the mid-1990s.
In 1960, a single-storey low-rise building without a basement was added to the house and in 1964 a single garage was erected.
Mr. Busch set up his dental practice, which he ran until the 1990s, in the low-rise building, which architecturally blends in well with the existing building with its southern flat-roof extension built in 1939/40.
The current owners initially intended to fundamentally renovate the building and create 3 apartments. The residential building was to be divided into 2 apartments and the dental practice was to be converted and used as one apartment.
The property of the "Villa Busch" building is directly adjacent to the Limbach retirement home.
Location
Limbach is located in the north of Baden-Württemberg, in the southern (= Baden) part of the Odenwald, in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, in the UNESCO - GEO-PARK Bergstraße - Odenwald, in the Neckar Valley-Odenwald Nature Park, at an altitude of 273 to 548 m above sea level in the red sandstone area.
