Landau an der Isar is the oldest town in the district of Dingolfing-Landau and has just under 15,000 inhabitants. The town is connected to the federal highway 20 and the federal highway 92 and the Landau (Isar) train station is on the Landshut-Plattling railroad line. Trains on the Danube-Isar Express run every hour between Passau and Munich.
