Forsthaus Metzelthin - living and working in the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park

The Metzelthin forest house was purchased by us in 2005 and renovated and refurbished until 2006. In the main building, all floors, windows, and some doors were replaced, and all utilities (electricity, gas, water) were updated. The apartments were also remodeled to our specifications. The house has 2 floors; the living area is approximately 200 square meters. On the ground floor, there is a large living room (approximately 45 square meters), a large kitchen-living room (approximately 30 square meters), a utility room with a toilet and guest shower, and a pantry. On the first floor, there is a small storage room, a bathroom with a shower, bathtub, two sinks, and a toilet, a guest room, two smaller rooms, and a large bedroom. There is a sloping ceiling in the bedroom, starting at approximately 1.30 meters. The guest wing has 3 fully furnished apartments. The large apartment on the ground floor is approximately 90 square meters and features a large living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. This apartment has direct access to the guest garden (approximately 2,000 square meters). On the upper floor, there are 2 apartments, each approximately 45 square meters, with a large living-bedroom area including a kitchenette, a small bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet. The sloping ceiling on the first floor starts at approximately 1.30 meters. The small apartments are accessible via an external staircase. The entrance to the apartments is through a small balcony. Due to the sloping roof, a square footage of 254 square meters was used for pricing purposes. There is also an outbuilding on the property that includes garages and a dog training school. The dog training school building has also been renovated. The dog training school has a large storage/meeting room and 2 toilets in the basement, and on the first floor, there is an office, a large seminar room (approximately 70 square meters), and a toilet. The dog training area is fenced. Access is via a private road behind the neighboring properties. High-speed internet (fiber optic) is available, but not yet activated. The roofs require renovation. The property has mature trees, including 6 old linden trees directly in front of the house, arranged around a paved area. A vegetable garden was created approximately 10 years ago and is still partially cultivated. The forestry building is a registered habitat for small bats. We rent out apartments and parking spaces for motorhomes to people with dogs. The parking space can be divided by a gate, and the area for guests is separated from the private area by a high hedge, a fence, and a gate.

Metzelthin is a small village that belongs to the Klosterwalde district of Templin. The Metzelthin forester's lodge is located on the little-used road towards Gandenitz, right next to the forest.
Templin is about 15 kilometers away. Here you will find the town administration, doctors, hospital, shopping facilities, the MultiKulturelle Centrum, as well as schools, daycare centers, restaurants and cafés. The surrounding area offers many opportunities for leisure, culture and sport.
From Templin, you can reach Berlin (Ostkreuz) in approx. 1.5 hours by train or Oranienburg in approx. 50 minutes. From Oranienburg there are various regional trains and the S1 to Berlin.
You can reach Berlin by car in approx. 1.5 hours.
