The market is in a quiet location and is around 30 km from Passau, 25 km from Deggendorf and 7 km from Vilshofen. The A 3 highway - exit Iggensbach or Garham is also approx. 7 km away.
Hofkirchen has a general practice, a dental practice, a kindergarten and an elementary school. In the center of the village there is a bank and a bakery and at the end of the village there is a petrol station, a supermarket with a drinks department and a sports field.
