Location
Unterschleißheim is located in the north of the district of Munich. It is about 16 km from the center of the state capital Munich. Unterschleißheim has approx. 30,000 inhabitants and is very conveniently located between the state capital and Munich Airport.
There is a highway connection to the A92 directly in the town and via the B13 (Munich-Ingolstadt) a connection to the A99 with access to the A8 (Stuttgart-Salzburg) and the A9 (Munich-Nuremberg). The Unterschleißheim S-Bahn stop is a 5-minute walk away. Travel time to the city center to the main station approx. 25 minutes / Freising approx. 20 minutes / airport approx. 25 minutes. The S-Bahn usually runs every 20 minutes. There are 3 local bus lines, one of which goes to the U6 subway station in Garching-Hochbrück. The nearest bus stop is approx. 3 minutes' walk away.
There are numerous kindergartens and childcare facilities in the area as well as all primary, middle and secondary schools. There are also many doctors in private practice as well as physiotherapists, alternative practitioners, opticians, hearing aid specialists and fitness studios.
The leisure facilities also leave nothing to be desired. Leisure pool with indoor and outdoor pools and saunas, own bathing lake with restaurant and other bathing lakes in the surrounding area. The nearby Berglwald forest is ideal for walking, cycling and running. There are a large number of clubs in the village. There is a small cinema with a frequently changing program. Unterschleißheim also offers a wide range of cultural activities.
There are numerous shopping opportunities, e.g. in Bezirkstrasse, in the numerous supermarkets or in the UEZ shopping center on Rathausplatz, which is within walking distance. There is always a weekly market here on Saturdays and a Christmas market on Advent weekends.
There are also numerous restaurants offering a wide range of culinary delights directly in the town.
Numerous craft businesses, several petrol stations, some with car washes and several hotels are also represented in Unterschleißheim.
The industrial estate is home to companies from many sectors and numerous medium-sized companies offer attractive jobs.
