The Zinnowwaldsiedlung is an important landmark in urban planning beyond Zehlendorf. Inspired by the English garden city movement, it was built in 1925-28 according to plans by architect Gustav Hochhaus. The listed ensemble of 65 houses features characteristic elements of architectural expressionism. Particularly striking: the façade with warm red and yellow tones, as well as the contrasting white lattice windows. The houses are surrounded by greenery and mature trees. Their set-back, loosened-up arrangement encompasses the approximately 26,250 square meter plot and extends partly into the green areas.
