We had the house extensively renovated before 2017. During the work, we attached great importance to ecological building materials and living space design appropriate to the age of the house.

All walls on the ground floor and first floor were plastered with breathable lime plaster and painted with diffusion-open lime paint. The indoor climate with its self-regulating humidity is therefore very pleasant throughout. The look is somewhat more rustic than with fine plaster in the new building. In addition, all the floors have been renewed or refurbished. On the ground floor, solid wood floorboards were installed in the living room and bedroom after applying a leveling compound. Real cement tiles were laid in the kitchen and on a small area in the hallway. On the 1st and 2nd floors, the original old floorboards were uncovered, sanded and biologically oiled. Two steel beams were replaced on the 1st floor and the bathroom was renovated.
On the top floor, two additional Velux windows were installed in a sloping roof. The extension was clad in larch wood, which requires no maintenance and will age gracefully over decades.
All the flat roofs were redone. The canopy over the front door was renewed in 2023. The 8kW wood-burning stove in the living room was new in 2017 and complies with current legal requirements. All windows on the ground floor have electric and time-controlled exterior blinds. The windows were renewed in 2004.

Partition walls were removed earlier on the ground floor, 1st floor and 2nd floor, so that all floors have a spacious main room. For two to three people, this allows for a very open living feeling.
In the basement there is a full bathroom, a laundry room and a workshop/storage room with the condensing boiler from 2009, which works without any problems. A second water meter was installed here in 2021 for the outside water tap in the garden. No waste water is charged from this water meter. The water costs here are reduced by approx. 60%.

The garden was designed to be as opaque as possible and many different shrubs, trees and perennials were purchased for this purpose. The woodshed of approx. 9 sqm is suitable as an additional recreation room, storage or small workshop. Bicycles can be conveniently stored in the additional 5 m² extension shed from the year the house was built. Above this, in the small gable, there is storage space for winter tires, for example. Next to it, the parking space was newly paved in 2021, where we initially had a small caravan and later a motorhome. However, it is also suitable as a patio area, e.g. for an outdoor kitchen.
The garage with a new roof has an electric door and electricity.
