In addition to a daycare center and various clubs, the village of approx. 700 inhabitants has an excellent community store with a full range of groceries.
Attractive elevated location in the imposing landscape of the North Palatinate Highlands - direct distant views of Galgenberg and Lindenberg. The extensive mixed forests around the village with their abundance of mushrooms and blackberries invite you to hikes and walks. The famous Hinkelstein hiking trail runs close to the house. The Palatinate Forest hut "Iggelborner Hütte" is only approx. 5 km away, the Donnersberg excursion and hiking region with its Celtic tradition approx. 9 km. Passionate cyclists are not far from the Alsenz, Lauter, Barbarossa, Zellertal and Old World cycle paths.
The sub- and shopping centers of Winnweiler and Otterberg (with its 800-year-old Romanesque abbey church and its half-timbered old town) are only 5 and 7 km away respectively, each with swimming pools on the outskirts (towards Höringen). In Winnweiler there are connections to the train (Kaiserslautern-Bad Kreuznach line) and the highway (Mainz-Kaiserslautern). The city of Kaiserslautern with all its cultural, sports and shopping facilities is only 18 km away - the Pfalztheater with its excellent opera department is highly recommended.
