We are Vivian and Thimo Rahlff, and we would like to offer our beautiful detached house for rent on a fixed-term basis. The contract will be for a period ending in July 2026.
The house is located in the Meiendorf district of Hamburg, on a plot of approximately 1000 square meters. The living space of 180 square meters is spread over two floors and includes 8 rooms, and there is also a full basement.
The house was built in 1949 and extended in 1979. In 2012, the house underwent a major renovation, including new roof insulation, new electrical wiring, underfloor heating, a complete redesign of the two bathrooms on the upper floor, and the replacement of almost all flooring, walls, and ceilings. Last summer, in 2022, the oil heating system was replaced with a new hybrid heating system (heat pump & gas).

Upon entering the house through the front door, you'll find a cloakroom to the left. Next to it is a bedroom/children's room. From there, you can access the living area either through the kitchen or a hallway (e.g., a study). The living area features a large window overlooking the terrace and the garden, which is mostly hidden from view. The open-plan living and dining area was renovated in 2017, and a new, modern kitchen was installed. This gives the ground floor a very open and contemporary feel. Upstairs, to the left, are two guest bedrooms or children's rooms, each with its own shower room. Continuing through a large walk-in closet, you reach the highlight of the upper floor: the master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, which includes both a bathtub and a large rain shower. Adjacent to the bathroom is a separate room with a toilet and a large sink. And if all of that wasn't enough, there's also a steam oven, an induction hob, a hammock for relaxing in the garden, a seating area on the terrace, a double carport, and the nicest neighbors in the world! The living room is furnished with a dining table, a sofa area, and a TV stand. The study is equipped with a desk and a filing cabinet. The cloakroom contains a chest of drawers, clothes rails, and a sofa. Upstairs, the bedrooms each have two beds, and a walk-in closet has been prepared for storing clothes.
Location
The house is located in a quiet area with a 30 km/h speed limit in Meiendorf. The Islandstrasse primary school is very close by, as are the Deepenhorn secondary school and the Meiendorf grammar school. There are shopping facilities in the new center of Meiendorf, as well as in Berne and Rahlstedt. The nearest bus stop is 400 meters away, and it takes just 3 stops to reach Berne. From there, it's a 23-minute journey to the main train station.
